Waterworld has splashed out on a £1.5million refurbishment, adding an extra 10,000 square feet to the tourist attraction, just in time for the summer.

The perfect destination for totally tropical family fun, Waterworld offers nine water slides, a wave pool, a cave of fast rapids, and a mini assault course for kids of all ages, all in guaranteed temperatures of 30°C.

The investment has created a new dining area with a seating capacity for 400, which offers much more space for diners and parents watching their children enjoy the wave pool and slides.

There is also a new restaurant, serving contemporary Thai street food, bringing a fresh addition to the popular dining area.

The new round of improvements builds on the investment made last year, when the heated outdoor pool and sundeck were upgraded to create a haven for visitors to relax and make the most of sunshine and fresh air. At that time, the outdoor area was renewed, tiled and a new filtration and heating system were installed.

Waterworld is the most visited water-based leisure attraction in the UK and has welcomed almost 10 million visitors since it opened.
