Have you seen The Sentinel this morning? We’ve just had a major extension approved….
PLANS for a major extension at one of Stoke-on-Trent’s biggest tourist attractions have been approved.
WaterWorld owner Mo Chaudry unveiled proposals to build a new snack bar and seating area around the outdoor pool.
Now Stoke-on-Trent City Council has passed the plans which will create 10 jobs.
Planning officer Phil Murphy said in his report: “There is an identified need to expand the offer for customers by upgrading existing facilities. The applicant does not seek to provide an increase in retail floorspace but seeks to extend the existing seating facilities and enhance the customer experience.”
The scheme involves adding 250 seating spaces.
The pool itself will receive an upgrade, while a kiosk serving food and drink will also be built.
WaterWorld attracts around 400,000 visitors a year.
