This winter, our Aqua Park in Stoke-on-Trent will temporarily close for exciting renovations as we prepare for the next chapter in the Waterworld story. We’re keeping the details under wraps for now, but we can’t wait to share what’s coming!
Before work begins, join us for our ‘Last Splash’ party on Sunday 1st November 2026 — your chance to enjoy all the thrills, spills and splashing fun one last time this year!
Let’s Close With a Party!
Gather your family and friends and help us send off the year in style! With a DJ playing from 12pm–4pm, featuring music from the past to the present, we’ll take you through the years as we celebrate Waterworld’s journey. There is no extra charge to attend the party, it is included with your admission ticket.
Enjoy our 30 rides and attractions, soak up the party atmosphere and make a few more memories before we begin our winter transformation. Whether you’ve been visiting for decades or have recently discovered the fun, we’d love you to be part of this special day.
From 1989… to What Comes Next?
Waterworld first opened its doors in 1989. Through the years, we’ve undertaken many renovations, introduced new adventures and welcomed generations of families looking for that holiday feeling, whatever the weather.

A New Chapter, With Family Fun at Its Heart
Wayne Goodall, Managing Director of Waterworld Leisure Resort, said:
“Our closing party is the perfect chance for visitors to make a last splash with us before we close for a short time to make exciting changes across the Aqua Park.
“At its heart, Waterworld offers families a place to spend time together, escape from everyday life and enjoy that holiday feeling, whatever the weather. The upgrades we have planned are set to build on that sense of fun and enhance the way we tell our story, creating a more immersive experience for our guests. We can’t wait to reveal more about the upcoming investment soon.
There’s Still Plenty to Enjoy This Winter!
While the Aqua Park undergoes its renovations, Adventure Mini Golf and Adventure Mini Village will remain open, so you can keep making family memories at Waterworld Leisure Resort throughout the winter.
